Hee Haw Records

We founded Hee Haw Sessions in Leeds (2007) specifically to promote Americana & Alt-Country Shows. At the time a lot of these artists would not appear in Leeds and it was our desire to bring them here. We have had the pleasure of working with many high profile artists as well as supporting up and coming artists that we respect. In 2013 we went a step further into the support of up and coming artists by forming a record label (Hee Haw Records) to assist in the release and promotions of Dead Flowers debut album. We are immensely proud of the end product and feel honoured to have played a small part in it’s creation.

Dead Flowers are a London based Alt.country / Americana band formed around the songs and voice of Ian Williams. Gothic tales of love lost and never found. A sound combining the growl of Dan Michaelson, the gloom of Bill Callahan on a downer and the grit of Tom Waits. On record Dead Flowers bring to mind the ambience of a Lambchop production with Mark Nevers at the helm.

2013 saw the band play shows with Lambchop and Barr Brothers. Debut album ‘Midnight At The Wheel Club’ was released in November 2013 on Hee Haw Records and features a collection of songs written whilst travelling from New York City to Montreal.

Though there is an undeniable darkness to the songs, sometimes the light breaks through, but never for long enough to break the spell. Think of a slow train crawling through a cold winter and an unending supply of whiskey.
